Frequently Asked Questions

How does AdVantage Pro support cycle development?
AdVantage Pro's data acquisition software supports up to 12 drying steps, a thermal treatment (freezing) phase, a recipe manager with 16 custom recipes, and semi-automatic and fully automatic modes of operation, with continuous historical data trending and quick data export.
Is AdVantage Pro suitable for GMP and regulated environments?
Yes. AdVantage Pro Software has full validation ability, with testing protocols, onsite control-system IQ/OQ validation support, and factory-initiated software validation.
What solvents can AdVantage Pro handle?
AdVantage Pro can handle organic solvents like acetonitrile, but the standard acrylic chamber door isn't resistant to them. For these applications, we offer an optional solvent-resistant door (glass and aluminum construction) that can be ordered with the unit or added later. The vacuum pump must be a two-stage, high-vacuum pump or a suitable dry pump. Optional secondary traps (a Sodasorb® cartridge for acid-based applications or an activated charcoal cartridge for solvent-based applications) are also available to protect the pump.
How many temperature probes does AdVantage Pro have?
Four temperature probes are included, with optional MVP Probe Holders available for precise probe positioning in vials.
What's the difference between the Intellitronics™ touchscreen and workstation?
The Intellitronics™ touchscreen, built into AdVantage Pro, handles day-to-day operation: recipe running, alarms, and stoppering. The workstation is the AdVantage Pro Software, a separately purchased program installed on a Windows laptop PC that interfaces with the Intellitronics controller. It adds a graphical synoptic display with real-time system status, continuous historical data trending, quick data export with customizable date/time ranges, a 16-recipe manager, and Proficy Historian for secured historical data archiving.
Can AdVantage Pro handle a variety of applications?
Absolutely! AdVantage Pro is designed for versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of industries and applications including but not limited to:
  • Small Molecule Formulations
  • Monoclonal Antibodies
  • Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) Formulations
  • Cell & Gene Therapy
  • Diagnostic Kits
  • Cycle Development
What kind of training is available for operators?
We offer Remote Freeze-Drying Training and Hands-On Training Opportunities to ensure operators can effectively and sustainably utilize AdVantage Pro. These programs help maximize cycle efficiency and optimize system performance.
