Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between standard and Spindle Rack Ready washers?
Both the standard and Spindle Rack Ready washers can wash wide-neck glassware using the included standard racks. Spindle Rack Ready washers can also accommodate spindle racks, which swap in for the standard racks, to wash narrow-neck items.
What water pressure does the IonWash require?
Tap water rinse models use a standard building water supply. DI rinse models require at least 18 psi. For those that require a DI rinse but don’t have an incoming water pressure of 18 psi, we offer a booster pump.
What types of glassware can be washed?
The standard IonWash can accommodate many sizes and shapes of glassware, including wide-neck items like beakers, flasks, test tubes, and bottles. For narrow-neck items like graduated cylinders, volumetric flasks, and small Erlenmeyers, a Spindle Rack Ready model is required.
How often can the IonWash be run?
The IonWash is built for continuous daily use in busy, multi-user labs, with multi-stage filtration protecting the pumps through repeated cycles. Cycle times as short as 7 minutes allow back-to-back runs throughout the day, and a built-in delayed start option lets a load run unattended overnight or during off-peak hours.
Can any run-cycle programs be customized?
No. The IonWash has nine pre-programmed cycles that cover most washing, rinsing, and drying needs.
Do the top and bottom units operate together or separately?
The top and bottom units operate separately, offering even greater flexibility.
