Frequently Asked Questions
What manifold and accessory options are available?
Freezemobile supports a Vertical Manifold Assembly (4-, 8-, 12-, 24-, or 48-port stainless steel) and Horizontal "T" Manifolds (1-, 2-, or 3-tier stainless steel), along with additional standard and custom accessories, flask adapters, and glassware.
Are oil changes easy?
Yes. Removable front and side panels give easy access to the vacuum pump. The pump has a drain line, so oil can be checked after each cycle by draining a small sample, and a fill plug with a sight glass, making it easy to add new oil. The Sentry 2.0 controller also tracks vacuum pump running hours and triggers a maintenance alarm to prompt oil changes.
What sample formats does Freezemobile support?
Freezemobile processes samples in flasks (via Quickseal valves on a manifold) and in vials or trays on manifold shelves within a drum manifold or chamber.
Is there vacuum control on Freezemobile?
Yes. The Sentry 2.0 controller provides a Vacuum Control field with selectable modes: None (disabled), VLC (bleeds gas into the system to hold a vacuum setpoint), and Power Save (isolates the system to maintain vacuum).
Is Freezemobile easy to defrost and clean?
Yes. Freezemobile uses hot gas defrost, which loosens ice from the condenser walls. Because the ice doesn't need to fully melt, it can often be removed before the cycle finishes, so a full defrost isn't always necessary. Once the ice is out, the smooth-walled, stainless-steel condenser and clear acrylic door make the condenser easy to inspect and clean.
What size flasks and adapters are available?
Wide Mouth Filter Seal™ flasks are available in 40 mL, 75 mL, 150 mL, 300 mL, 600 mL, 1,200 mL and 2,000 mL capacities. Adapters (glass, stainless steel or black nylon; straight or 45° angle) connect these flasks to any manifold valve port, with sizing for both the 150 mL to 2,000 mL range and the smaller 40 mL and 75 mL flasks.
