Re: Update COVID-19 – SP Operations statement
As we approach winter season in the eastern part of the United States, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide an overview of SP under what many term ‘the new normal’. Now seven months into the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, the ‘new normal’ for SP means continuing to be willing and able to quickly innovate and pivot to meet the expectations of our customers.
We anticipated that this event would create long-term fluctuating market demand and have proactively worked to redesign many aspects of our engineering, supply chain and production processes. As a result, we have successfully raised the bar, improving overall efficiencies and resulting lead times in order to provide critical, high-quality scientific equipment that improves people’s lives. I am also proud to share that our work was recently recognized by PA 1st district Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick who visited our Warminster, PA headquarters to present SP employees with an American flag previously flown over the U.S. Capitol building.
All SP locations remain fully operational. Whether on-site or remote, SP employees continue to get the job done and embrace our core value of Respecting each other, through their service to our customers and prioritization of everyone’s safety. While most office employees continue to work remotely, we have well-established on-site safety and maintenance guidelines in place to protect our manufacturing teams as well as those office personnel and visitors who may need to come into a SP facility.
We are optimistic in the ability of our global scientific community to meet current and future world health challenges and proud to offer a diverse portfolio of scientific products that support Covid-19 and other research initiatives particularly during this time.
SP’s popular Freeze-Drying Webinar series continues to grow in popularity and connect our customers with timely content presented by industry thought leaders. These complimentary events can be attended live or are available on-demand. On October 22 Dr. Xiuling Lu. Ph.D. and Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Connecticut will present Impact of Freeze-Drying Process and Lyoprotectants on Nanoparticle Stability.
